About the Department

The Department of Journalism was established to train individuals with the skills and equipment needed by the media and communication sector and to conduct scientific research in the field of journalism. Our department focuses on educating communicators who have a command of all processes related to the planning and production of printed and electronic news media, have contemporary professional and intellectual knowledge, are creative, questioning, and have a critical perspective. For this reason, our students are trained theoretically and practically in areas such as news gathering, writing, photographing and designing. In addition, theoretical and practical knowledge, interpretations and research from different perspectives on the political economy and cultural functions of the media, which plays an important role in social dynamics, are transferred to students.

Through the workshops and laboratories within the Department of Journalism, students are given the opportunity to apply the knowledge they learn in the courses. In addition, students who are knowledgeable about television and radio journalism can also practice in the news center of the university radio.

Career Opportunities
