About the Department
The Department of Special Education at the Faculty of Education trains teachers who respect the educational rights of individuals with special needs and can apply evidence-based teaching methods. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum addressing different disability groups including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and hearing and visual impairments. Students receive theoretical and practical education in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEP), inclusive practices, behavior management, early intervention, and family education. Through mandatory teaching practice, students gain professional experience in school and institutional settings. Erasmus exchange program, double major, and minor opportunities offer students different academic and professional perspectives.
