The Department of Surgical Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine teaches students the fundamental principles, diagnostic methods, and treatment approaches of surgical disciplines during the clinical period of medical education. The department houses sub-departments including general surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, urology, plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, thoracic surgery, and pediatric surgery. During clinical rotations, students experience the operating room environment and develop skills in patient examination and assessment, determining surgical indications, and creating postoperative care plans.
