About the Department
The Materials and Materials Processing Technologies program aims to train technicians equipped with the materials knowledge and processing techniques required by industry. Through the program, students learn the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of metals, polymers, ceramics, and composite materials, gaining an understanding of their industrial applications.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, hands-on work is conducted in workshop and laboratory settings. Core manufacturing processes such as machining, heat treatment, welding technology, casting, and plastic forming are experienced firsthand. Students also receive training in quality control and materials testing within the framework of current industrial standards.
The program aims to meet the demand for qualified intermediate-level personnel who can be employed in various industrial sectors including automotive, aerospace, defense, construction, energy, and home appliances. Through mandatory internships, students gain industry experience before graduation.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can be employed as production technicians, quality control technicians, CNC operators, materials testing technicians, welding technicians, and maintenance technicians in the automotive supply industry, aerospace and defense, metal processing and foundry facilities, plastics and rubber industry, home appliance manufacturing, energy and pipeline sector, and construction materials production. Transfer to bachelor's programs such as Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering is possible via the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
