About the Department
Our school was founded under two departments — 'Business Information Management' and 'Computer Technology and Information Systems' — by the cabinet decision published in the Official Gazette dated 30 September 2006 and numbered 26305; the Computer Technology and Information Systems department has not admitted students yet. The study period is evaluated together with the optional English language preparatory class (the English preparatory class is not compulsory).
Aiming to train managers who target a career in business administration and who effectively use information technologies and communication skills, our department has taken its place among the professions of the future with its interdisciplinary structure that brings together the communication discipline and information technologies and synthesizes theory and practice.
The aim of the department is to train prospective managers who are qualified to meet the needs of today's business world, have strong communication skills, are equipped with information technologies and information management in addition to their theoretical knowledge, can apply this equipment in the career they choose, and can conduct research in the field of Business Information Management. The department has 3 assistant professors and 3 instructors.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can work as mid-level or top-level executives in public and private institutions. Provided that they obtain the required KPSS score, they can be appointed as civil servants in state institutions and organizations. In the private sector, they can work as management information systems specialists in the IT and management units of companies, in banks, and in software and consultancy firms; they can also pursue an academic career through graduate education.
