About the Department

The Elderly Care Program, housed within Mersin University's School of Health Services, is a two-year associate degree program aimed at developing qualified human resources to meet the health and care needs of the growing elderly population. The program aims to train professionals who can support the health of older adults, participate in their care processes, and be sensitive to their social and psychological needs. Our mission is to train healthcare technicians equipped with professional knowledge and skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a strong sense of community awareness to meet the care and support needs of older adults. Our vision is to be an exemplary educational program that cultivates informed, ethical, and well-equipped healthcare professionals who will contribute to improving the quality of life for older adults in society and who adhere to ethical values.
