About the Department
The Department of Medical Services and Techniques, housed within Mersin University's School of Health Services, consists of six programs. These programs aim to train qualified personnel in various roles within the healthcare system. The first is the Operating Room Services Program, which trains technicians to work in operating rooms to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of surgical operations. The Anesthesia Program aims to train professionals who will assist physicians in anesthesia administration and assume responsibility for medication administration and patient safety processes. The First and Emergency Aid Program trains healthcare personnel who can work in emergency rooms and ambulance services and provide rapid and accurate interventions in critical situations. The Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program contributes to the continuity of healthcare services by training personnel involved in the organization and archiving of patient records and the execution of administrative processes in healthcare institutions. The Medical Imaging Techniques Program aims to train technicians who will contribute to the diagnostic process using advanced technology such as MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, and X-ray. Finally, the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program trains graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to examine biological samples, perform laboratory analyses, and obtain reliable results in the diagnosis of diseases.

Graduates of the Medical Services and Techniques program can work as technicians and mid-level professionals in public institutions and the private sector. They may also continue to bachelor's degree programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
