About the Department

Establishment Information

The program was established in 1992 as part of the YÖK-World Bank Second Industrial Education Project. Due to the development of physical facilities and laboratory infrastructure, students began accepting formal education under the name Control Systems Technology in the 1994-1995 academic year. Laboratories were established in the same year as part of the YÖK-World Bank project. Students were admitted to this department's evening program in the 1998-1999 academic year. After approximately 20 years of education, the evening program was closed in 2018 by a decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). In 2000, as a result of a joint effort between the Ministry of National Education and YÖK, the curriculum was updated to reflect technological advancements, and the department's name was changed to Industrial Automation.

Since 2010, it has continued its education under the name Control and Automation Technology Program within the Department of Electronics and Automation. Currently, the department operates solely as an evening program with two academic staff and students.
