Society's Acceptance of Hydrogen Technologies - Online Seminar - April 15, 2026

Hydrogen stands out as a key component in Europe's transition to a climate-neutral energy system, and it's increasingly emphasized that this transformation isn't limited to technical advancements alone. Public perception, the involvement of local communities, and building trust regarding safety and benefits are critical factors in moving hydrogen solutions from pilot phases to large-scale applications.
In this context, the MOST-H2, HYGHER, and H2GLASS projects, supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, will host an online seminar on April 15, 2026, titled "Joint Webinar: Social Acceptance of Hydrogen Technologies," focusing on the decisive role of social acceptance in the widespread adoption of hydrogen technologies.
The webinar will address the issue of social acceptance from a multifaceted perspective. Based on the research and demonstration outputs of these projects, the dynamics shaping public perception of hydrogen technologies, how stakeholder participation can be more effectively structured, and strategies to increase long-term acceptance and ownership will be discussed.
The event will provide participants with up-to-date findings from three projects, as well as practical examples from the field and assessments from interdisciplinary experts working at the intersection of technology, society, and politics.
The webinar addresses a broad audience of stakeholders involved in the development and dissemination of hydrogen technologies. It is expected to be a significant information-sharing platform, particularly for industry representatives and technology developers seeking a better understanding of societal dynamics and acceptance mechanisms, researchers and consultants working in the field of energy transition and sustainability, and decision-makers shaping hydrogen policies. It also stands out as an event open to all stakeholders interested in how hydrogen technologies are perceived by societies and how this process can be managed more effectively.
