Cooperation Meeting Between Mersin Yenişehir District Directorate of National Education and Mersin University

Ali Uçar, the Director of National Education for the Yenişehir District of Mersin, accompanied by a delegation of teachers—Abdulğani Uçar, Sena Gürbüz, Zeynep Özturgut, and Gülperi Fatih—met with officials from the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and the Young Entrepreneur Application and Research Center (Girişim Limanı) to implement innovative educational projects and strengthen institutional collaborations.

The meeting, held on September 28, 2026, was attended by Prof. Dr. Rükan Genç Altürk (TTO Academic Unit Coordinator), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alper Günöz (Deputy Director of the Young Entrepreneur Application and Research Center/Girişim Limanı), Rabia Nur Şenlik (National Technology Workshop Coordinator), and Ramazan Duman (Mersin University Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Officer). Potential joint projects between the institutions were discussed during the meeting.

“We Value a Culture of Consultation with Our Stakeholders”

Highlighting the purpose of the visit and the importance of a collaborative working culture between institutions, Yenişehir District Director of National Education Ali Uçar stated that they aim to maintain constant communication and consultation with stakeholder institutions to enhance the quality of educational projects; he emphasized that they attach great importance to such institutional cooperation visits.

Patent, Mentorship, and Infrastructure Support

Prof. Dr. Rükan Genç Altürk, the TTO Academic Unit Coordinator, emphasized that the institution is open to all forms of scientific and academic collaboration. Prof. Dr. Altürk stated that they could provide full support for the projects to be developed, specifically regarding the provision of expert mentors, the appointment of jury members, and the process of converting innovative ideas into patents.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alper Günöz, Deputy Director of Girişim Limanı, noted that the center serves as an integrated innovation ecosystem, enabling students, academics, and aspiring entrepreneurs to commercialize their business ideas, produce prototypes, and bring their projects to fruition. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Günöz added that the laboratory infrastructure within the National Technology Workshop would also provide a solid foundation for the R&D and production phases of jointly conducted projects.
