Educational Materials Donated to Mersin University Faculty of Medicine for Use in Medical Education Activities
Various medical education materials procured for use in educational and healthcare services were donated to the Dean’s Office of Mersin University Faculty of Medicine on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with the aim of contributing to the education and training of medical students.
The materials, procured by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for use in educational and healthcare services as part of its efforts to improve access to protection services for refugees in the most vulnerable situations, were delivered to the Dean’s Office of Mersin University Faculty of Medicine through the support of Mr. Haran Akdeniz.
The donation included a range of materials that can be used in medical education and practical training, including an infant capsule, pulse oximeter, stethoscopes, non-contact thermometers, aneroid sphygmomanometers, a fetal Doppler device, a height measuring device, and various anatomical training models.
The donated materials are planned to be used in the education of Faculty of Medicine students and in hands-on medical education activities. This contribution is expected to support students’ practical learning experiences and further enhance the educational environment of the Faculty.
The handover ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Murat Ünal, Dean of Mersin University Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Dr. İbrahim Başhan, Vice Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Selvi; and Mr. Haran Akdeniz.

Vaginal anatomical model – 1 unit
Testicular anatomical model – 1 unit
Testis and penis anatomical model – 1 unit
