Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Board Meeting Held at the Faculty of Science

The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Board of Mersin University Faculty of Science convened on September 3, 2026, at the Dean’s Meeting Room.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Recep ÖZEN, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Employer Representative (Chair); Prof. Dr. Birgül ÖZDEMİR, Director of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences and Employer Representative; Prof. Dr. Zeki YARAR, Occupational Safety Specialist; Dr. Mustafa TÜMAY, Occupational Physician; Ferhat ALTUNTAŞ, Faculty Secretary; Prof. Dr. Hamza MENKEN, Deputy Dean and Employee Representative; and Abidin KAÇAR, Technical/Administrative Staff (Foreman). Associate Prof. Dr. Nalan KANDIRMAZ, Deputy Dean and Employee Representative, was unable to attend the meeting due to leave.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including employees’ health surveillance and occupational health and safety training, the organization of a fire drill, the provision of wheelchairs for individuals with disabilities, and the organization of certified first-aid training for the first-aid team.

The Board also decided to record OHS training certificates in the personnel automation system and to hold the next OHS Board meeting on November 2, 2026.
