Our University Takes Its Academic Vision to the World: Published in the International Collaborative Journal Financial Innovation

Our university has added another achievement to its successes in scientific production and international collaborations. An international study, led by Prof. Dr. İlhan Ege, a faculty member of the Department of Business Administration at our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, examining the relationship between green technologies and natural resource management, has been published in Financial Innovation, one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the financial world.
This project, which once again demonstrates our university's competence in global academic standards, was prepared through the collaborative work of scientists from Spain, the Czech Republic, and Turkey. The article, titled "The impact of financial innovation, economic complexity, and green technologies on natural resource management in EU countries," has been published in Financial Innovation, a journal with an impact factor of 7.2 as of 2024, ranking 1st in the Social Sciences and Mathematical Methods category, 9th in the Business and Finance category, 4th in the Business-Finance field according to JCI, and classified as SSCI (Q1) in the Finance category.
Guiding Findings for Sustainable Development
This study, which examines the impact of economic complexity, financial innovation, circular economy, and green technologies on natural resource management in European Union countries, provides policymakers with important data. The research results scientifically demonstrate the need for interactive policies to avoid potential "backlash" effects of technological progress and to achieve sustainable development goals.
“Success is a Product of the Working Environment Provided by Our University”
Prof. Dr. [Name], commenting on the study... İlhan Ege stated, “We have been working on this project for over two years with a team of prominent scientists. It is a source of great pride that two of our university graduates, whom I supervised in their doctoral dissertations, are part of the team that wrote the article. In 2025, another study of ours, also with two scientists from Spain whom I supervised in their doctoral dissertations, was published in an SSCI (Q2) category journal. I would like to thank our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Erol Yaşar, and all the staff of Mersin University, of which I am proud to be a member, for their continuous support and for providing a peaceful and suitable working environment. We will continue to work tirelessly to make even greater contributions to our university and our country.”
