Physics Department 1st-Year Students' Orientation Event

As part of the orientation activities for students enrolling in our university in 2026, the Department of Physics organized a meet-and-greet and integration event on September 28, 2026.
Held at 1:00 PM in the Physics Laboratory, the event brought together newly enrolled students and the department's academic staff. During the event, students had the opportunity to meet the faculty members, who in turn shared information about their respective academic work and research areas.
Following the introductions, students briefly presented themselves, sharing their reasons for choosing the Physics Department and their future goals. The event, which fostered communication between students and faculty during the early days of their academic journey, took place in a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.
Additionally, orientation videos prepared by the university to help new students adapt to university life and academic processes were screened. Through these videos, students were informed about the university's academic and social facilities, available services, and various aspects of university life.
A highlight of the event was the lab coat ceremony, symbolizing the students' first steps toward becoming scientists. Department Head Prof. Dr. Zeki Yarar helped the new students put on their lab coats, welcoming them into the Physics Department's scientific environment.
With the lab coat ceremony, the students took their first steps not only into their educational journey within the Physics Department but also into the processes of research, inquiry, experimentation, and scientific discovery. As the Department of Physics, we wish our new students success in their university lives and hope that their scientific journey is filled with curiosity, discovery, and achievement.
