Private Mersin İsabet School Visited Our Museum

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 09:00, the Marine Life Museum—affiliated with our Marine Sciences Application and Research Center (DEBİM)—was visited by students from the 4/A class of Private Mersin İsabet Primary School, accompanied by their teacher, Nurdagül Yıldırım. During the visit, the students were informed about topics such as marine species inhabiting the Eastern Mediterranean, life in aquatic environments, and biodiversity. The Fin Whale that had washed ashore in Mersin in 2021 following a ship collision was initially buried at our university's Yenişehir Campus; its skeleton was subsequently exhumed in October 2025, and assembly work has since commenced at the museum. The head and vertebral sections of the Fin Whale were shown to the students.
