The 7th Issue of Yazıyorum Practice Newspaper Has Been Published

The 7th issue of Yazıyorum, the Practice Newspaper of the Journalism Department at Mersin University Faculty of Communication, has been published in August 2026.

Supporting students in gaining practical experience in news production and editorial processes, the practice newspaper features a variety of content on university and local developments, as well as travel impressions, interviews, culture, arts, sports and current issues.

The new issue includes coverage of the 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony, the National Technology Summit, scientific research and project activities at Mersin University, various events and academic developments, as well as a range of stories produced by students. The issue also features an interview with Chest Diseases Physician Meltem Soyalp on the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes and their impact on young people.

The issue also highlights “Portraits from the Newspaper”, a photography exhibition prepared by fourth-year Journalism students as part of their Photography Art course. The exhibition brings together students’ creative work and explores the relationship between portrait photography, newspaper texts and visual storytelling.

The 7th issue of Yazıyorum can be accessed through the “Practice Newspaper” section on the Mersin University Faculty of Communication website.

Yazıyorum continues to support the practical dimension of journalism education by providing students with opportunities to develop their professional knowledge and skills through hands-on production.
