Technical Infrastructure

At Mersin University Department of Journalism, students are trained through applied education using modern technical infrastructure elements of the Faculty of Communication such as the News Workshop, Photography Workshop, Computer Laboratory, and TV Studio, in addition to the theoretical education they receive in the field of journalism. While participating in the publication of Mersin University's practice newspaper Yaz?yorum in PDF and web newspaper formats, they can learn newspaper and magazine page design in the News Workshop through graphic and page design courses, simultaneously learn about internet-based publishing systems such as WordPress and learn multimedia journalism, develop themselves in photography ? the most important component of journalism ? with cameras, and prepare the photos they take for publication using photo editing programs on computers. Thus, they can directly experience journalism practices and establish their professional development on solid foundations.

Additionally, the Radio Studio provides students with the opportunity to develop themselves in the field of audio news broadcasting.

Journalism department graduates currently have the opportunity to find employment in many private sector and public institutions.
