Health is one of the most fundamental values of human life. Educating healthcare professionals who will protect and enhance this value is not only an academic responsibility but also an important duty to society. As the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, I consider it our highest priority, with a full awareness of this responsibility, to educate individuals who are guided by scientific thinking, committed to ethical values, inquisitive, critical thinkers, and dedicated to a human-centered approach.
Today, healthcare services are rapidly evolving under the influence of scientific and technological advances. More than ever, there is a growing need for healthcare professionals who can adapt to change, think critically, embrace interdisciplinary collaboration, and adopt lifelong learning as a guiding principle. Guided by this vision, we continuously improve the educational activities carried out at our faculty and strive to strengthen our students' knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies in line with the evolving demands of our time. I believe that university years are not merely a period for acquiring professional knowledge. They are also a significant stage of life during which individuals discover themselves, take on responsibilities, develop their social and cultural capacities, gain diverse perspectives, and shape their future. Therefore, alongside academic achievement, we attach great importance to educating our students as individuals who uphold ethical values, possess strong communication skills, demonstrate a high level of social responsibility, and will practice their profession with a human-centered approach.
I sincerely believe that our faculty, which encourages scientific research, embraces innovation, and is committed to continuous improvement, will continue to make valuable contributions to the advancement of our country's healthcare sector through its distinguished academic staff and student-centered educational approach. My greatest aspiration is for our students to serve society not only as successful graduates but also as exemplary healthcare professionals distinguished by their knowledge, conscience, and professional ethics. I warmly welcome all students who have chosen our faculty and become part of the Mersin University family. I wish you a successful, productive, and memorable university life, and I have every confidence that, with a full awareness of the responsibilities you will undertake in the future, you will make significant contributions to the health and well-being of our country and humanity.
With my warmest regards and best wishes for a future filled with health, success, and happiness.
