Educational Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The main objective of Mersin University Faculty of Medicine is to provide a contemporary, reliable, accountable educational environment that is responsible to the environment and society in order to train physicians who are competent to provide quality health services to individuals and society, possess basic/core competencies, professional skills/attitudes, can conduct research and practice in accordance with medical ethics principles, can provide evidence-based health services for early diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and rehabilitation, are aware of continuous professional development programs, and have acquired a lifelong learning attitude.
1.2. Objectives and Learning Outcomes of the Educational Program
1.2.1. Phase I Objectives and Learning Outcomes
1.2.1.1. Objective
To ensure that Phase I students have knowledge about the molecular, cellular and tissue structures and functions of the organism and internal and external factors that may cause changes in the organism, and to provide them with basic skills and attitudes regarding human behavior, physician-society interaction and communication.

To provide students with knowledge, skills and attitudes at required levels (having knowledge, making diagnosis, treating, prevention and performing emergency medical interventions) based on the Core Education Program regarding taking history of inpatients or outpatients being followed up, performing systematic physical examinations of organ systems, planning tests (laboratory and imaging methods), evaluating results, planning and following up treatment
