How to Submit an Appeal for Course Exam Results?

The procedure is explained in detail in Article 33 of the Mersin University Associate and Undergraduate Education–Teaching and Examination Regulation:

Article 33 — (1) A student may request the re-evaluation of an exam paper by submitting a written petition to the relevant sub-unit within five business days following the announcement of the exam results. The sub-unit forwards the exam paper to the responsible instructor to determine whether a material (clerical) error has been made, and the result is communicated to the student.

(2) If the student objects to the outcome of the material error review, they may request a substantive (content-based) re-evaluation by applying to the relevant sub-unit within five business days from the date the review result is communicated. A committee of at least three faculty members—excluding the responsible instructor and appointed by the relevant administrative board—re-evaluates the exam paper substantively by comparing it with the answer key and/or other exam papers and documents. Any grade change becomes final with the decision of the administrative board. The decision regarding the grade change (Amended expression: OG-6/2/2024-32452) is reported to the relevant sub-unit.

(3) If any material error is detected in the grades announced on the Student Information System (ÖBS), the responsible instructor submits a correction request to the relevant sub-unit. This request is evaluated by the sub-unit. If applicable, any corrections or grade changes are reviewed and finalized by the administrative board of the unit. The administrative board decision (Amended expression: OG-6/2/2024-32452) is reported to the relevant sub-unit.
