A Distance Education Unit was established within Mersin University Mersin Vocational School in 2002, and the Pharmacy Department Pharmacy Services (Distance Education) Associate Degree Program began education in 2009.
Eczacılık Bölümü, Eczane Hizmetleri Programı ülkemizde “Eczane Teknisyenliği” olarak da isimlendirilen iş alanının eğitimini veren programdır. The main goal of the program is to train personnel with sufficient knowledge and skills needed in all work areas involving pharmaceuticals, especially pharmacies.
The Pharmacy Services Program within the Pharmacy Department of Mersin University Mersin Vocational School was established so that university candidates who wish to work in various units of the pharmaceutical sector can become certified health professionals trained in a scientific environment, having acquired professional skills and all necessary knowledge and equipment.
Our program is conducted through the distance education system. The increase in scientific developments in the field of education, rising demand for education, increasing education costs, and technological developments have brought the necessity of distance education to the forefront in our country as in the rest of the world. Today, every subject can be learned at every level through the distance education method. The Distance Education System, which is indispensable for those who cannot benefit from traditional education;
- Providing all university candidates with the right to education without time and space restrictions
- Offering educational opportunities to students who do not wish to change their economic and social structures for various reasons
- Providing working students with the opportunity to learn as much as they want, whenever they want, regardless of time
- Offering educational opportunities to students who cannot continue active educational life due to health reasons
- Allowing individuals who still work in the pharmaceutical sector without a diploma to participate in this program without leaving their workplaces has these advantages. Therefore, it has been concluded that implementing the distance education system in our Pharmacy Services Program is the most appropriate method.
A special curriculum has been prepared for you with the joint contributions of our University Mersin Vocational School, primarily our Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Medicine, and other faculties and vocational schools, with the aim of training successful future Pharmacy Services personnel.
Graduates of this program have employment opportunities in all services where pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products are offered, primarily in pharmacies. Graduates of the Pharmacy Services Program, who will be able to find employment opportunities especially in the 24,000 pharmacies in our country and at various points of the pharmaceutical service sector (hospital pharmacies in the public and private sector, pharmaceutical and health product distribution channels, pharmaceutical factories, etc.), will be able to serve as trained personnel in these workplaces. While our Pharmacy Services Program creates new education and employment opportunities for our youth, we believe that in addition to being scientifically trained personnel, they will raise the quality of service provided in the pharmacy and pharmaceutical sector and make a very significant contribution to the entire process from drug production to correct and rational use.
Our Pharmacy Services Program is 2 years long and consists of a total of 4 semesters. Our program started education in the 2009-2010 academic year with a student quota of 200.
Our program, which will ensure that Pharmacy Services Personnel are trained at the knowledge and skill level to maintain services in compliance with European Union harmonization frameworks, is making intensive efforts for you to become auxiliary health workers who will shape your professional future, in addition to being individuals who can look to the future with confidence.
