Mission and Vision

Our Brief History 

Our School was established with the Council of Ministers Decision dated November 8, 2001 and numbered 2001/3299, published in the Official Gazette dated December 20, 2001 and numbered 24616, and began its activities with the appointment of the Director on January 24, 2002. Before its establishment, foreign language education at our university was carried out by the Foreign Languages Department affiliated with the Mersin University Rectorate, which was established by Law No. 3837 on July 3, 1992.

The School of Foreign Languages, an important unit of Mersin University which follows a modern education philosophy, is committed to Atat?rk's Principles and Reforms, and has made commendable progress, continues its efforts to contribute to the education policy that unconditionally prioritizes scientific thinking through its foreign language education.

Our Services

Our School provides compulsory and elective English preparatory courses of our University, as well as common compulsory foreign language courses, post-preparatory foreign language courses, and professional foreign language courses included in the curricula of faculties, schools, and vocational schools.

Our Mission

To equip our students with the foreign language skills they will need in their academic and professional lives by providing quality language education; to contribute to their development as scientifically thinking, creative, productive individuals sensitive to national issues by guiding them in accessing knowledge. 

Our Vision

To achieve total quality in higher education with its physical structure, necessary technical infrastructure, and well-equipped academic staff, and to become one of the competent schools in its field by creating resources that our students can access at all times in foreign language education.
