Program Teaching Aims and Objectives
Program Objective: “The Elderly Care Program aims to equip graduates with the skills to plan and implement basic care, support for daily living activities, and fundamental rehabilitation practices for elderly individuals in public and private healthcare institutions. Graduates work as “Elderly Care Technicians” in these institutions.”
Program Objectives:
1. To teach students the basic knowledge and principles of elderly care.
2. To equip students with the skills to provide basic care and rehabilitation to elderly individuals.
3. To help students understand the importance of safely supporting elderly individuals in performing daily living activities.
4. To help students understand the importance of ethical principles and patient safety in the process of providing care to elderly individuals.
*In line with Mersin University's 2023-2027 Strategic Goals, and taking into account the opinions of internal and external stakeholders, the aims and objectives of the Elderly Care Program have been updated by the Board of Directors' Decision No. 5/16 dated 26/01/2026.
