Program Profile

The Automotive Technology Program provides two years of associate degree education to students from all high schools. During the educational process, students receive in-depth training in areas such as engine technology, transmission systems, motion control systems, powertrains, chassis and suspension systems, electrical and electronic systems, automotive design, and safety. They also gain practical skills in vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostic methods. The Automotive Technology program generally includes both theoretical courses and laboratory applications. Students examine vehicle parts, diagnose faults, and perform maintenance/repair procedures. They also learn to use software and equipment used in the automotive industry. Throughout the program, students follow the latest technological developments in the automotive industry and have the opportunity to learn these technologies practically. This allows graduates to quickly adapt to innovations in the sector and gain a competitive advantage.

Employment Profiles of Graduates

Automotive technology graduates can work as "automotive technicians" in a wide range of fields, from authorized service centers to automotive factories, insurance companies to auto repair shops. Employment areas also include positions such as service consultancy, expertise, sales, and customer relationship management. Graduates can work in various businesses in both the public and private sectors.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Candidates who successfully complete their associate degree can continue their education in relevant bachelor's degree programs at universities if they achieve a sufficient score on the vertical transfer exam.

Exams, Assessment and Evaluation

Students are subject to a midterm exam, mid-term assignment (project, seminar, quiz, homework, or a second midterm exam), and a final exam for each course. The midterm exam contributes 40% to the final grade, and the final exam contributes 60%. All exams are graded out of 100, and a minimum score of 50 on the final exam is required. Students may take a make-up exam for any courses they failed at the end of each semester. Students who receive one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), and (CC) in a course are considered to have passed that course.

Students who successfully complete all courses in the program (totaling 120 ECTS credits), achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00, and complete a 20-day professional internship will receive a diploma.
