PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
1. To provide Turkish Language and Literature students with the competence to perform literary and philological analysis, enabling them to comprehend the historical development process of Turkish Language and Literature.
2. To ensure students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills from an academic and professional perspective, and to contribute to their ability to conduct effective and productive work at national and international levels.
3. To train scholars, specialists, and prospective teachers in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
4. To provide the necessary knowledge base and research environment for original and scientific research, contributing to students' ability to develop habits of collaborative work, evaluation, and production.
5. To raise individuals with comprehensive knowledge in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
6. To raise individuals who can understand and analyze Turkish Language and Literature works within the framework of scientific criteria, follow current developments in the field, and benefit from other social and human sciences.
7. To raise individuals who can use Turkish effectively, correctly, and in accordance with its rules, both orally and in writing.PROGRAM OUTCOMES
1. Has knowledge about the periods, characteristics, and sources of Turkish Language and Literature; serves as an instructor in educational institutions with the knowledge acquired.
2. Gains the ability to analyze the historical development, periods, and change processes of the Turkish language using scientific methods; acquires the skill to evaluate historical texts in terms of their linguistic features.
3. Knows the structural features of Turkey Turkish at the levels of phonetics, morphology, syntax, and semantics; analyzes these structures from a grammatical perspective.
4. Develops the skill of correct and effective Turkish usage by examining written texts from a linguistic perspective.
4. Gains the ability to analyze and interpret Turkish Literature texts developed under Western influence by comprehending the periodic, thematic, and formal transformations in Turkish literature from the Tanzimat era to the present.
5. Recognizes Turkish dialects extending from Old Turkic to the present day in their historical and geographical context; analyzes the differences in phonetics, morphology, syntax, and vocabulary among these dialects.
6. Has knowledge about the verse forms, genres, aesthetic understanding, and representatives of Classical Turkish Literature; reads and analyzes the texts of the period with their original language and script features.
7. Recognizes the anonymous, minstrel (ashik), and religious-mystical branches of Turkish Folk Literature; knows their representatives and works, identifies basic genres, and performs form and content analysis on related texts.
8. Develops critical thinking skills, gains confidence in expressing thoughts constructively, and acquires awareness of acting in accordance with ethical principles.
9. Acquires the necessary knowledge base to conduct original and innovative scientific research by also benefiting from other social and human science fields; gains habits of collaborative work, production, and evaluation by forming research groups.
10. Has the ability to create, organize, store, and share information using information technologies.
11. Collects data from libraries, archives, and other sources and examines this data using scientific methods.
12. Has sufficient foreign language knowledge to follow current research in the field and communicate with colleagues.
13. Knows the political, economic, social, and historical conditions that gave rise to Ataturk's principles and reforms.
