Goals and Objectives

HEALTH SERVICES VOCATIONAL SCHOOL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES*

Goal 1: To train qualified health technicians equipped with professional knowledge and skills, based on practical training, who can work in the healthcare sector.

Goals:
1.1. Educational curricula are regularly reviewed at least annually in line with sector needs and current technological developments and updated as necessary.

1.2. Students' opportunities for practical vocational training are increased.

1.3. Graduate employment rates are monitored, and a graduate feedback survey is conducted at least annually.

1.4. Training, seminars, and other activities are organized at least annually within each program to enhance students' professional knowledge and skills.

Goal 2: To ensure that graduates maintain their professional practice by communicating effectively, adhering to ethical values, and being sensitive to patient rights.

Goals:
2.1. The educational curriculum includes courses and activities on effective communication, ethical principles, patient rights, and professional responsibility.

2.2. Events and/or seminars are organized at least once a year to raise ethical and legal awareness among pre-graduate students.

2.3. Graduate monitoring is conducted annually to monitor the development of graduates in terms of professional ethics.

Goal 3: To conduct education, research, and community service activities to contribute to the protection, development, and sustainability of public health.

Objectives:
3.1. Seminars, training, and awareness events related to public health are organized at least once a year.

3.2. Public awareness activities and social responsibility projects are conducted at least once a year with the active participation of students.

3.3. Academic staff are encouraged to produce scientific research, activities, and projects for the benefit of society.

3.4. Community contribution activities are organized at least once a year in collaboration with public institutions, local governments, and non-governmental organizations to ensure the sustainability of these activities.

3.5. An evaluation and feedback system is established to measure the effectiveness of community contribution activities.

*In line with the 2023-2027 Strategic Goals of Mersin University, the aims and objectives of the Vocational School of Health Services were updated with the Board of Directors decision dated 17/10/2025 and numbered 57/119, after receiving the opinions of internal and external stakeholders.
