Generative AI Policy
Generative AI Policy
The OLBA Journal follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ICMJE regarding the use of generative AI-assisted technologies in the article writing process.
Generative AI tools cannot be considered or presented as "authors" in academic or scientific works. Generative AI has no authorship or review authority; articles must be based on the researcher's original ideas and findings.
Authors may utilize generative AI tools for language editing, spell checking, or technical improvement. If generative AI is used, this must be explicitly stated in the article.
Due to ongoing legal uncertainties or copyright infringements related to visual content generated by generative AI, the use of such materials is generally not permitted in the OLBA Journal.
Editors may utilize generative AI-assisted systems for limited purposes, such as language quality or similarity analysis, during the preliminary review process. However, editorial decisions are made solely by the editors.
Reviewers may not upload article content to any generative AI system during the review process. This constitutes a data privacy violation. Reviewers may only use AI tools for language editing purposes in their own written review texts. Reviewers are responsible for the scientific content of their reports.
A violation occurs in cases of failure to fulfill disclosure obligations, incomplete disclosure, or prohibited use. In the event of a violation, restrictions such as article rejection, post-publication retraction, editorial bans imposed on the author by the journal, and institutional notification processes may be applied.
