Program Teaching Aims and Objectives

Program Objective: “The Anesthesia Program aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to safely initiate, maintain, and terminate anesthesia procedures in public and private healthcare institutions. Graduates work as “Anesthesia Technicians” in these institutions.”

Program Goals:

1. To teach students the basic principles and methods of anesthesia procedures.

2. To ensure students understand the importance of ethical principles and patient safety during anesthesia.

3. To equip students with the skills to use anesthesia equipment correctly and safely.

*In line with Mersin University's 2023-2027 Strategic Goals, and taking into account the opinions of internal and external stakeholders, the aims and objectives of the Anesthesia (IKMEP) Program were updated with the Board of Directors' Decision No. 5/16 dated 26/01/2026.
