Müdek Nedir?

The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (M?DEK) is a non-governmental organization that operates with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the quality of engineering education in Turkey by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and information activities for engineering education programs in different disciplines.
M?DEK was established in 2002 by the Engineering Deans Council (MDK), consisting of deans of faculties providing engineering education in Turkey and the TRNC, as an independent civil society platform called the Engineering Evaluation Board, to organize and implement a detailed program for the evaluation of undergraduate engineering programs within these faculties.

M?DEK,

Started the evaluation of engineering programs in 2003,

Became a member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) in 2006,

Transformed into a non-governmental organization under the name Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs, continuing to use the abbreviation M?DEK, on January 25, 2007, gaining legal personality,

Was recognized by the Council of Higher Education (Y?K) on November 16, 2007 as a national quality assurance organization focused on national, sectoral, and program qualifications in engineering programs of higher education institutions,

Was authorized by ENAEE to grant the EUR-ACE Label to engineering education programs it accredits as of January 21, 2009, and

Was accepted as a Provisional Signatory to the IEA (International Engineering Alliance) Washington Accord as of June 25, 2010.
