Internship Opportunities Abroad
During their studies, our students can benefit from several programmes to gain professional experience abroad. This page summarises the main options, the conditions of the latest call and what needs to be completed before departure.
Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility
Erasmus+ traineeship mobility allows students to gain professional experience in their own field at an organisation in another programme country.
Students find their own host organisation; a traineeship lasts at least 2 and at most 12 months.
A non-repayable grant is provided for the period spent abroad. The grant is intended to cover the additional costs of mobility, not all expenses.
The traineeship must be related to the student’s field of study. Laboratory work carried out as part of academic studies or to conduct the student’s own research project is not considered a traineeship.
Applications are submitted via the Turkish National Agency Erasmus Application Portal using e-Devlet credentials.
Latest call (2026): Applications were accepted from 2 to 20 February 2026. University-wide quotas of 18 undergraduate, 3 associate, 6 graduate and 2 Çukurova MED consortium places were announced, with grants for at most 2 months. These places are not reserved for our faculty; the call published for the new period prevails. 2026 Traineeship Mobility Call (PDF, in Turkish)

Çukurova MED Consortium

Exchange Programmes for Medical Students (TurkMSIC)
As stated in our faculty’s 2024 Self-Evaluation Report, the TurkMSIC Mersin Local Committee supports our students’ national and international clerkship exchanges.
The Turkish Medical Students’ International Committee (TurkMSIC), through the IFMSA network it belongs to, offers clinical exchanges (SCOPE) and research exchanges (SCORE) abroad. Applications are handled by local and national exchange officers; academic recognition depends on our university’s decision. For current places and countries, please contact the TurkMSIC Mersin Local Committee, one of our faculty’s student societies.
Key Notes for Medical Students
Before applying for clinical traineeships, please clarify the language of training, conditions of patient contact, compatibility of the study year and rotations, acceptance within the internship year, insurance and recognition on return with our faculty coordinator.
