Meeting Information

The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Mersin University, held an orientation and introductory meeting on September 24, 2025, for first-year students who began their studies in the 2025–2026 academic year. The event started with the opening speech by Prof. Dr. Recep ÖZEN, Head of the Department of Chemistry.

Following the opening, Assoc. Prof. Özgür YILMAZ, the academic advisor of the first-year students, presented statistics for the 2025–2026 academic year and provided information about scholarship opportunities available to undergraduate students. Subsequently, Lect. Ayşe Banu AKDOĞAN from the Office of International Relations and Project Coordination delivered a presentation on the Erasmus+ Program.

The program concluded with the traditional “Lab Coat Ceremony” of the Department of Chemistry, symbolizing the students’ formal initiation into the field of chemistry.

On September 18, 2025, a meeting was held by Assoc. Prof. Özgür YILMAZ, the academic advisor of first-year students, with the newly enrolled students of the Department of Chemistry. During the meeting, students were informed about the department curriculum, graduation requirements, internship opportunities, Double Major Program, and Pedagogical Formation Education.
